The Rise of Cosmetic Procedures
In the last few years, the demand for cosmetic procedures has been consistently rising. The British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (The BAAPS) recorded 31,057 cosmetic procedures having taken place in 2022, up 102% from the previous year. With technological advancements facilitating the scope of treatment and precision of the procedure, competition in the industry is fierce.
An increasingly popular concern amongst men and women centres around the eyes and eyelids. Individuals often see the emergence of wrinkles and puffiness around the eyes, or find heavier shadows, “bags”, developing due to the thinning of skin and loss of elasticity. Aesthetic Solutions
Consequently, blepharoplasty, otherwise known as eyelid surgery, has been one of the surgical procedures to see a 74% increase in 2022 (BAAPS). These treatments, an upper-eyelid reduction or a lower-eyelid reduction, occurs under anaesthetic and works to reduce wrinkles or puffiness by making incisions to the skin and removing excess skin, fat, and sagging muscle.
Similarly, an injectable solution, tear trough fillers, has grown in popularity.
