Sleeping my way to better skin

I couldn’t help but wonder… had we been doing “self-care” all wrong?
For years, I believed glowing skin came from expensive serums, restraint at des- sert, and eight glasses of cucumber-in- fused water a day. I tried every trending miracle short of moon dust and blood plasma facials. But what if all I really needed… was eight uninterrupted hours of sleep?
Last month, I fell asleep with a full face of makeup on. Not once, but twice. In heels. One of those times included fals- ies and emotional damage. I woke up looking like a haunted doll and realized: it wasn’t age that was catching up to me, it was exhaustion. So, I did some- thing uncharacteristically responsible: I ended things with the city. Just at night.
