This week, Flipside hosted the inaugural dinner for the BAAPS Press Advisory Board at HIDE Mayfair.

Flipside have been looking after the PR for The British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (BAAPS); the only organisation solely dedicated to advancing safety, innovation and excellence in cosmetic surgery, for the past 4 years.

All too aware of the challenges of ensuring that cosmetic surgery is reported responsibly in the media, we set out to create an advisory board in order to establish a two-way communication between journalists and key opinion leaders at BAAPS.

Over the course of an intimate private dining experience, Flipside brought BAAPS President Marc Pacifico, Vice President Nora Nugent and Past President Rajiv Grover together with leading journalists who specialise in the field of aesthetics.

An evening of lively conversation, the inaugural meeting helped to solidify key relationships between BAAPS and influential members of the press, establishing a strong foundation for future communication between the two parties.

What is PAB?

A mutually beneficial relationship between the media and some of the world’s leading aesthetic plastic surgeons, PAB has been formed to open up two-way communication between the journalists who specialise in aesthetics and the key opinion leaders at BAAPS.

United in its aim to promote greater safety and awareness of cosmetic surgery in the UK, PAB is an advisory group of experts who lend their skills, guidance, and knowledge to BAAPS to allow the organisation to better convey its message to the public.

Chaired by Francesca Ogiermann-White, Editor of Tatler’s Cosmetic Surgery Guide, the board is made up of journalists from some of the UK’s leading media outlets, including The Telegraph, the Daily Mail and HELLO! Magazine.

The members of PAB will have access to information, such as the annual audit, or any press statements being issued by BAAPS, ahead of their release to the wider media.

PAB will also have access to BAAPS key media opinion leaders for any quotes and information they need around the subject of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery.

In line with its endeavour to provide key media with exclusive insight into the latest developments in Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, the inaugural dinner saw Vice President Nora Nugent give panel members a preview of the speakers and topics that will be presented at the annual BAAPS Body Contouring & Facial Surgery Conference later this month.

This year’s conference will focus on facial surgery and body contouring surgery in London. The theme of the conference is Elevated Surgery and will take place on Thursday 28th & Friday 29th September 2023 at IET London: Savoy Place. Speakers include internationally renowned surgeons Chia Chi Kao, Jerry O’Daniel, Wafaa Mradmi Alami-afilal and Spero Theodorou.
