What Does GPF Stand For?

Short for Genetic Protection Factor, GPF shields skin against an array of unseen environmental damage. As well deflecting UV rays, it guards against pollution, stress, heat and HEV blue light, adapting to the changing effects of the environment to provide an enhanced level of protection.

TETRA Sunscreen Lotion Broad Spectrum SPF 50 (£75)

The first and only brand to incorporate the GPF sub-formula, PRIORI’s Tetra challenged standard SPF daily defence when it launched three years ago. Comprising Broad Spectrum Mineral sunscreen, Soliberine, a High Intensity Radiation Complex, antioxidants and DNA Repair Enzymes, the four-pronged defence system achieved industry revered status for its ability to guard against a greater gamut of environmental aggressors, whilst also working to repair existing signs of damage.

Three years on and the game changing GPF has been undergone an advanced protection upgrade. In addition to upping its factor to a steely 50, the revised formula has gained an improved affinity for water resistance, allowing up to 80 minutes of splash-proof protection.

Speaking last year, Regis Haberkorn, President and Co-Founder at PRIORI, described the development as part of the brand’s continuing commitment to refining and improving their existing line.

“After two years of huge success, we are launching an enhanced version of our TETRA sunscreen lotion with SPF increased to 50, while also ensuring it provides 80 minutes of water resistance. These improvements will increase our customers’ ability to safely enjoy outdoor activities with the confidence that they remain fully protected from exposure to the ever-changing environments of sun, pollution, damaging radiations, and stress.”

Refined but not replaced, the improved formula maintains its famous four-tiered approach. As reef safe mineral sunscreens Zinc Oxide and Titanium Dioxide deflect UV exposure; infrared radiation is tackled by Soliberine and the antioxidant Carnosine scavenges free radicals, the brand’s propriety Enzyme Complex repairs damaged strands of DNA in order to help improve overall skin integrity. If that wasn’t enough, the GPF is infused with a universal tint that subtly corrects complexions to reveal a healthy-looking glow.

TETRA Lip Shield Broad Spectrum SPF 20 (£16)

Expanding on its offering of high-performance SPF, the reformulation comes accompanied by the launch of an all-new lip protectant. With a penchant for first-of-its-kind formulas, the shield is the first lip product to feature four levels of protection, teaming TETRA’s propriety DNA Enzyme Complex, High Intensity Radiation Complex and antioxidant defence with a Zinc Oxide SPF 20. The innovation provides all-encompassing protection to the oft-neglected area, shielding delicate lip skin from the harsh effects of an ever-changing environment whilst promoting correction and repair.
