Welcome back to the first official round up of 2021! The first working week of the New Year got off to a flying start, with lots of exciting updates in store for our clients!
With many of us keen to kick the New Year off with healthier habits, ProLon’s 5-day fast mimicking diet generated lots of interest online. Nutritionist Kim Pearson talked to the Daily Express about the many health benefits of the plant-based meal plan, which was later also featured on the Amed Post. Talking through the diets tipped to be big news in 2021, she broke down the so-called ‘fat burning fake fast’.
“Ground-breaking studies demonstrate how fasting mimicking diets can reduce body fat, specifically abdominal ‘belly’ fat. Amongst their many health benefits, they have been shown to reduce cholesterol, and improve markers of inflammation and blood sugar levels.”
Next week, ProLon will be hosting an exciting webinar to explain how the programme works. To register and find out more, simply click here.
Moving on to more great client coverage now! Following the announcement of lockdown number 3 at the start of the week, The Times featured Drowsy in its guide to the little luxuries to lift your spirits. Knowing all too well the effect that lack of snooze can have on our mood, the brand’s sleep essentials were ranked among the best buys to see you through.
Eager to avoid being left in beauty limbo this lockdown? Fear not. The Sun have shared their handy at-home tips on how to survive without the salon. We loved hearing London Brow Co. founder Leigh Blackwell talk all things brow maintenance. She explained how to keep your eyebrows in order in lieu of a professional appointment and shared her top tips for tactical tweezing!
“Plan the strays to pluck. Spray hairspray on to the brows then use a slightly wet toothbrush to swipe your brows up – this way you can clearly see the unimportant hairs that are away from your shape, and only pluck those.”

One of the biggest trends forecasted for the New Year was a shift toward more eco-conscious beauty. One of our clients ahead of the curb was Arbonne, offering a programme designed to repurpose any hard to recycle packaging. Opting to expand the ArbonneCycle scheme at the end of last year, their forward-thinking initiative received a mention on Cosmetics Beauty this week.
In more exciting beauty news, essence featured on the Glam Drop this week! Glamour’s edit of the top beauty treats to have on your radar included the brand’s effective yet affordable HELLO, GOOD STUFF! range. Offering 6 products for under £5, essence are continuing to set the benchmark when it comes to budget beauty.
Our clients were also in print this week! BAAPS featured in the latest edition of Aesthetic Medicine and CATRICE made it into Hello! Magazine. The London Brow Company were in The Sun as well as receiving multiple mentions in Professional Beauty. Plus, Drowsy made an appearance in The Times, Daily Express and OK! Magazine!
That wraps up the first official round up of 2021! We will of course be back next week with lots more exciting news. Until then, you’ll find plenty of content to keep yourself occupied on our blog.
