We all know about the wonderful skin rejuvenating, collagen-boosting powers of Retinol. However, it can be irritating for the skin. So, AgeWell utilises Bakuchiol. A ground-breaking plant-based alternative that actually delivers results comparable to retinol* but is gentler on the skin. It then combines it with stabilized Vitamin C for a vibrant glow and even skin tone. Typically, retinol and vitamin C cannot be used together. Also, they are rarely combined in one formula, especially for higher levels of retinol.
AgeWell also contains orange citrus plant stem cell extracts. These are grown in a controlled bio-manufacturing cell culture environment to ensure consistency and traceability. This is a very sustainable way to obtain the benefits of plants without the need to cultivate them … no land, no pesticides, and less water is needed to grow them versus traditional farming practices. The addition of plant stem cell extract to Bakuchiol and stabilized Vitamin C delivers the look of skin radiance, elasticity, firmness, and texture.
Bakuchiol has been tested and shown effective at .5% compared to .5% retinol … and this serum has 4 times that amount! Combined with stabilized vitamin C, and plant stem cell extract the hero product delivers a concentrated dose of skin wellness. As a result, it reduces the look of uneven skin tone and appearance of wrinkles.
The range is vegan, cruelty-free with recyclable and refillable glass packaging which saves over 56 tonnes of plastic. Bakuchiol is sourced from its native environment of India. Arbonne works with local suppliers who grow the Babchi plant without pesticides and ensure sustainable harvesting through third-party certifications. Arbonne is proud to be a certified B-Corporation brand. This means that it has met the highest standards of verified social and environmental performance, public transparency, and legal accountability to balance profit and purpose.
The AgeWell range includes Silky Cleanser with Vegan Surfactants, Refreshing Toning Mist with Vitamin B3, Collagen Nurturing Serum with 2% Bakuchiol, Enriching Eye Cream with Caffeine + Bakuchiol, Moisture Restoring Cream with Broad Spectrum SPF 15 for the day and Moisture Restoring Cream with 0.5% Bakuchiol, Intense Repairing Night Cream with 2% Bakuchiol and Firming Neck Cream with 0.5% Bakuchiol
A randomized, double-blinded 12-week study in which 44 participants were split into two groups, called “cells.” One group used a cream with 0.5% retinol in it. The other group used the exact same cream with 0.5% bakuchiol. In the study, some bakuchiol users showed a slight redness and dryness in the beginning, but it did not last … while the retinol users reported facial skin scaling and stinging and continued irritation throughout the use period. The conclusion was that Bakuchiol seemed just as effective as retinol in reducing signs of photoaging and is better tolerated on skin.
